Established my own shop, building Campanella mandolins in the violin-style I conceived and designed (VAC grant). Also building and repairing fine violins.
Fall 2005- present
Creation Project Grant Recipient, Vermont Arts Council, Montpelier, VT
Completed a project to “...build a modern mandolin, more fully based on the principles of classic violin design.” Presented the instrument in a solo acoustic concert by Jamie Masefield of VT’s Jazz Mandolin Project. 2005
Violinmaker, Moroz Violins, Burlington, VT.
Made violins, violas and cellos for master violinmaker John Moroz, a 1982 graduate of the Violinmaking School of America. Focused on our model 2 violin, made entirely by myself, to John’s specifications.

Lutherie Apprentice, A. Lawrence Smart, McCall, ID.
Studied mandolin and guitar construction, repair and restoration with a master luthier. Involved in all aspects of instrument design and construction with a focus on mandolin-family instruments.

President, McCall Folklore Society, McCall, ID.
Organized small concerts and 1998 McCall Folk Music Festival. Solicited and booked musical acts, coordinated volunteers and vendors and managed the site during the three night festival. 1998.
