Instruments

I make violins, mandolins, and a new model archtop guitar set to debut in 2008. These instruments are at home on stage or in the studio, in many musical contexts and genres. I use fine tonewoods on all models, and choose fittings to best complement the fit and function of the instrument. Players often comment on the ease of playability, combined with excellent tone and volume, even at low input levels (right hand energy). All of my models are built in the classic violin-style that I have adapted to the other instruments. Besides being an extremely successful musical design, this allows me flexibility to build different models while continuing to refine and hone my basic approach. On plucked instruments, the violin-style results in a light weight instrument that is very efficient to play and easy to draw tone out of.
